Job Description

This is a Travel Position. Please do not apply if you live within 50 miles of the facility.

Candidates must live more than 50 miles away from the facility to be eligible.

Location: College Station, TX 

Job Type: 13-Week Travel Assignment 

Shift: Days 

Schedule: 3×12s | 36 hours/week 

On-Call: Yes 

Weekends: Required 

Patient Ratio: 1:4 

Pay: $70/hour

About the Role

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RN) to provide care to patients in an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). IMCU patients require a higher level of monitoring than Medical-Surgical patients but do not require ICU-level care.

Common patient populations include cardiac, respiratory, post-operative, and other patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring or cardiac/vasoactive drips.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to IMCU patients.
  • Monitor patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring.
  • Assess patient conditions and recognize changes requiring intervention.
  • Interpret telemetry rhythms.
  • Manage and titrate cardiac drips as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to established standards.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation.
  • Provide appropriate patient and family education.
  • Float to other areas if needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license.
  • BLS certification.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of IMCU experience.
  • Telemetry experience.
  • Cardiac drip experience.
  • Current bedside acute care experience.
  • Ability to work a 3×12 day shift schedule.
  • Willingness to work weekends and take on-call shifts as required.
  • Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this travel position.

Preferred / Strong Candidate Profile

  • 2+ years of recent IMCU, PCU, or Stepdown experience.
  • Strong telemetry interpretation skills.
  • Experience titrating cardiac drips.
  • ACLS certified.
  • Comfortable floating if needed.
