1st Class Structural Welders – Philadelphia, PA
Job Description
We're seeking experienced 1st Class Structural Welders for a long-term shipyard construction project in Philadelphia, PA.
Schedule:
- Working Days: Monday–Saturday
- Hours: 40–70 hours per week
- Duration: Long-term (1+ year)
- Per Diem: $150/day
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of structural welding experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, or heavy industrial fabrication
- Extensive Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) experience
- Current experience using ceramic tape backing
- Ability to weld structural steel in all positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead)
- Strong blueprint, weld symbol, and Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) interpretation skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, and production standards
Testing Required:
- 1st Class Structural Welder Skills Test
- Written Welding Examination
Candidates must be able to work overtime, weekends, and various shifts while maintaining high-quality workmanship in a fast-paced shipyard environment.
