Job Title: BIM Modeler

Location: Tempe, Arizona and/or Scottsdale, Arizona Division/Department

GENERAL DESCRIPTION/OVERVIEW

BIM Modeler will work directly with the prefabrication and preconstruction teams, participating in preliminary design, prefabrication design, BIM coordination and final design deliverables. This role will need to be highly motivated and ready to provide new solutions to improve company standards and procedures. They will also provide guidance to less experienced team members and share ideas to help the team grow. This modeler will create 2D and 3D designs/drawings, kit and shop drawings in CAD and Revit along with point layouts for field coordination and robotic layout tools.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Follows company BIM/CAD standards and helps develop and implement new standards

• Creates presentations, renderings, models etc. for sales, marketing and project proposals and presentations

• Creates model content, designs and renderings in collaboration with operations team for projects

• Work with Engineered Solutions team to develop design, models and shop drawings for fabrication

• Work with Engineered Solutions and operations team to develop design, models and shop drawings for field installation

• Assist with and/or prepare submittals, shop drawings etc. for products

• Assist with and/or prepare RFI’s

• Work with subcontractors and collaborate designs, models and other content that is not done in house or partially in house, this may be other external BIM/CAD design firms or individuals

• Participate in BIM design meetings, coordination, clash detection and resolution

• Stays up to date on industry trends, innovations through training and memberships

• Teaches and coaches other staff on use of tools, software and processes to help grow others and build our team

• Work with company software’s other than Autodesk products such as Fieldwire, Microsoft Office products or other tools as required

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 4+ years of experience in construction, engineering, or architecture (AEC industry) is preferred

• Working experience with Microsoft 365 – OneDrive, Outlook, Word, Excel

• Working experience with Bluebeam

• Able to demonstrate ability to create 2D shop drawings using AutoCAD

• Able to demonstrate ability to create 3D shop drawings using Revit

• Able to manage 3D models, manage clash detection, and coordination using Revit

• Modeling electrical systems in Revit

• Ability to create and export XY in CAD and/or other point generator software

• Ability to manage, document, and run BIM Coordination meetings and collaborate and work with other trades and general contractors

• Experienced user in Evolve MEP

• Able to read and understand construction drawings, submittals, shop drawings, and markups (specifically electrical)

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Architecture preferred
