Location: Orlando, FL
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week
Hours: 8 hours/day
Work Arrangement: Onsite / Facility-Based
Payrate: $22.18
Position Summary
The Medical Assistant 2 serves as the first point of contact for patients and provides both clinical and administrative support in an outpatient care setting. This role works closely with physicians and nurses and performs direct patient-care activities within the scope of the candidate's certification and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document patient symptoms, medical history, and other information in the EMR.
- Take and record vital signs.
- Administer injections as permitted by applicable certification/licensure.
- Perform diagnostic tests and collect specimens.
- Perform blood draws and phlebotomy procedures.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical equipment and examination rooms.
- Provide administrative and clinical support to physicians and nurses.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Provide a positive patient experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of recent Medical Assistant experience preferred/required for consideration.
- 1–3 years of back-office/direct patient-care Medical Assistant experience.
- Current CPR certification.
- Applicable state credential/certification such as RMA or CMA.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be comfortable working in a patient-facing environment.
- Must complete TB screening as part of the organization's screening program.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Bilingual skills.
- Hands-on professional phlebotomy experience.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- HEDIS experience.
- Active Medical Assistant certification/registration from an approved organization, such as:AAMA National Healthcareer Association American Registry of Medical Assistants National Association for Health Professionals American Medical Technologists
- ARRT/radiologic technology license.22
