Certified Pipe Welder – Tempe, AZ

6G Certified Pipe Welders with strong pipe welding experience using 6010 electrodes. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in all-position pipe welding, the ability to read welding procedures and blueprints, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipe welding in the 6G position using 6010 electrodes.
• Weld carbon steel pipe in accordance with approved welding procedures and project specifications.
• Perform root passes, hot passes, fill passes, and cap passes while maintaining proper weld quality.
• Read and interpret welding procedures, isometric drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.
• Properly fit, align, tack, and weld pipe and fittings.
• Set up and operate welding machines and related equipment.
• Inspect welds for quality, penetration, alignment, and defects.
• Perform grinding, cleaning, and preparation between weld passes as required.
• Maintain proper electrode handling and welding parameters.
• Follow all company, client, and OSHA safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work effectively with pipefitters, welders, supervisors, and other trades on the jobsite.

Qualifications

• Current 6G pipe welding certification required.
• Demonstrated experience welding pipe with 6010 electrodes.
• Strong experience with carbon steel pipe.
• Ability to weld in multiple positions, including 6G.
• Ability to pass a project-specific weld test if required.
• Ability to read and understand welding procedures and drawings.
• Strong knowledge of welding safety and proper PPE requirements.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work extended hours, overtime, and varying schedules as required by the project.

Preferred Experience

• Industrial, commercial, power, manufacturing, or process piping experience.
• Experience with pipe sizes and wall thicknesses commonly used in industrial applications.
• Familiarity with additional welding processes such as 7018 SMAW, GTAW/TIG, or FCAW is a plus.
