• 2x12s: 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
• 2x8s: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
• Total: 40 hours/week

Position Overview:

CareNational is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a 13-week Travel CVOR assignment in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of CVOR-specific experience and strong experience supporting open-heart, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures.
• Set up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to the procedure.
• Scrub for surgical cases and anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team.
• Pass sterile instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning and surgical draping.
• Perform accurate sponge, sharp, and instrument counts.
• Handle and transfer surgical specimens according to established protocols.
• Prepare and care for surgical instruments following procedures.
• Follow infection control, sterile technique, AORN, OSHA, and facility guidelines.
• Ensure surgical equipment and instrumentation are properly prepared and functioning.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR-specific experience
• Experience with Open Heart/CABG procedures
• Experience with Vascular procedures
• Experience with Endovascular procedures
• Experience with Thoracic procedures
• Current CST certification (Grandfathered candidates may be considered)
• Current BLS certification – AHA only
• Strong knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique
• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and CVOR procedures3
