Job Summary:

The Dispensing Pharmacist is responsible for the accurate and timely dispensing of prescribed medications to patients. This role requires independent judgment, interpretation of work assignments, and adherence to established pharmacy procedures and quality standards.

The pharmacist ensures compliance with quality assurance standards, accurate medication tracking, and thorough review processes before medications are shipped to patients. The position requires an understanding of departmental and organizational objectives and the ability to make decisions with minimal supervision while following established guidelines and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and quality assurance standards.
  • Review prescriptions and medication orders prior to shipment.
  • Maintain accurate tracking and documentation processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing patient experiences.
  • Exercise professional judgment in resolving medication-related issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Current Pharmacist license in the applicable state(s) of practice.
  • Ability to participate in Federal prescription programs.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and pharmacy systems.
  • Strong work ethic with a focus on accuracy, productivity, and quality.
  • Passion for improving consumer and patient experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a high-volume community pharmacy or mail-order pharmacy environment.
