Payrate: $86 / Hour
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurses for a 13-week travel assignment in Fairfield, CA. The RN will provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care while assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
The RN will work collaboratively with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team while maintaining high standards of patient safety, quality, documentation, and communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Labor & Delivery setting.
- Assess patients' physical and psychosocial conditions and identify nursing care needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
- Monitor patient conditions, responses to treatment, and progress toward established goals.
- Administer medications and safely operate required equipment and instrumentation.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and healthcare needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
- Conduct safe and effective patient handoffs.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care.
- Delegate appropriate tasks based on legal scope of practice and staff competency.
- Advocate for patients and support informed healthcare decisions.
- Provide culturally competent, age-appropriate, and ethical care.
- Contribute to patient satisfaction and positive patient experiences.
- Assist with complaint resolution and communicate concerns appropriately.
- Maintain a safe and professional clinical environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of acute care nursing experience required.
- Labor & Delivery experience required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Associate Degree in Nursing or BSN accepted.
- Active California RN License required.
- AHA BLS required.
- ACLS required.
- Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor activities.
- Ability to provide safe patient handoffs and accurate clinical documentation.
- Must be willing and able to float to a sister facility and other departments as requested and qualified.
