Location: Rock Hill, SC (On-Site; Hybrid flexibility after 6 months)
Compensation: $70,000 – $80,000 Base Salary DOE
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire
Overview:
A premier steel fabrication leader is seeking an autonomous Miscellaneous & Specialty Metals Detailer to serve as their primary in-house detailing authority. Reporting directly to the Division Executive, this role offers direct shop floor interaction, modern 3D scanning tech, and the opportunity to help build and lead an internal detailing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce precise 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings for complex miscellaneous steel packages (stairs, railings, canopies, custom ornamental metals).
- Troubleshoot fit-up discrepancies directly with fabrication shop fitters, welders, and project managers.
- Process 3D laser scan data / point clouds to verify field conditions prior to shop release.
- Review drawings from third-party detailing partners to ensure adherence to company and AISC/AWS/OSHA standards.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of steel detailing experience with a strong focus on miscellaneous/specialty metals.
- Proven proficiency with Tekla Structures and AutoCAD 3D.
- Experience processing 3D laser scan / point cloud data is a major plus (training provided).
- Solid understanding of steel shop fabrication, erection tolerances, and IBC/ADA codes.
- Autonomous problem solver ready to take full ownership of the detailing function.
