Job Title: Stick Welder – Barge Repair Pay: $24/hr + $120 per diem (for days worked) Schedule: Monday–Saturday,  5 /10hr shifts M-F , Saturday 8hrs

Duration: 90 working day contract

Job Description:We are seeking experienced Stick Welders for barge repair work on the Mississippi River waterfront. The position involves performing vertical up and overhead Fillet welds on 3/8” plate using 5/32” 6011 and 5/32” 7018 rods. Welds must meet visual inspection standards with no undercut and consistent continuity.

Responsibilities:

• Execute high-quality welds on barge structures following specifications.
• Perform welding operations using 6011 and 7018 electrodes in 3F (up) and 4F positions.
• Maintain weld quality, consistency, and adherence to safety standards.
• Collaborate with a team of welders, fabricators, and repair specialists.
• Ensure the structural integrity and safety of barge repairs.

Requirements:

• 2+years of working experience with stick welding (SMAW) in maritime or heavy fabrication settings.
• Proficient with 5/32” 6011 and  5/32” 7018 rods on carbon steel.
• Strong understanding of visual inspection standards and quality control.
