Structural Welder – Commercial Construction
Job Description
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40+ hours/week
Duration: 2–4 weeks
Project: High School Construction
We are seeking certified Structural Welders for a commercial construction project. Candidates will build structural frames on the ground and weld braces from ladders/elevated work areas.
Requirements
- Current AWS D1.1 welding certification
- Strong structural steel welding experience
- Proficient in SMAW/7018 stick welding
- Experience welding A36 structural steel
- Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols
- Must pass a project-specific weld test if required
- Type 2 hard hat with chin strap required
- Full-body harness and lanyard required when working at heights
- Must follow all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements
- Must provide required PPE
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and structural steel
