Travel ER RN (Nights) – Chula Vista, CA

This is a Travel Position. Please do not apply if you live within 50 miles of the facility.

Candidate cannot reside in San Diego, Temecula, or Murrieta area.

Job Type: Travel Contract 

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 3 days/week 

Hours: 36 hours/week 

Payrate: $93.50 (Inclusion of travel stipends)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to provide safe, therapeutic, and individualized care to patients and their families. The RN will perform the nursing process, collaborate with the healthcare team, promote quality outcomes, and serve as a patient and family advocate.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to an assigned group of patients.
• Assess and prioritize patient and family needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Provide safe and therapeutic nursing interventions.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to complex, new, unusual, or high-risk clinical situations.
• Document patient assessments, care, and responses to treatment.
• Provide patient and family education and evaluate understanding.
• Recognize communication barriers and collaborate with appropriate resources.
• Advocate for patients and families and support their participation in decision-making.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, ancillary staff, and other healthcare team members.
• Delegate and assign care within appropriate scope of practice and competency.
• Participate in patient care conferences and follow through with identified actions and referrals.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of recent RN experience.
• At least 2 years of recent RN experience in a specialty area.
• Emergency Department experience.
• BSN or ADN required.
• Active California RN license.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, and CPI or comparable certification.
• CPI or comparable certification must be an 8-hour class with at least half of the class completed in person.
• Strong patient assessment, care planning, nursing process, documentation, patient education, delegation, and care coordination skill
