Candidate cannot reside in San Diego, Temecula, or Murrieta area.

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 3 days/week
Hours: 36 hours/week

Payrate: $86 (Inclusion of stipends)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to provide safe, therapeutic, and individualized care to patients and their families. The RN will use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with the healthcare team to promote quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized, age-appropriate care to Labor & Delivery patients and families.
- Assess patient and family needs and develop appropriate plans of care.
- Implement and evaluate nursing interventions and modify care as needed.
- Monitor patient progress and document assessments, interventions, and responses to care.
- Provide patient and family education and evaluate understanding.
- Recognize communication barriers and collaborate with appropriate resources.
- Advocate for patients and families and support their participation in care decisions.
- Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, ancillary staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Delegate and assign care within appropriate scope of practice and competency.
- Respond appropriately to complex, new, unusual, or high-risk clinical situations.
- Maintain accurate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree or higher from an accredited nursing program.
- At least 3 years of recent RN experience.
- At least 2 years of recent experience in a specialty area.
- Current California RN license.
- CPR certification.
- NRP certification.
- AWHONN EFM Advanced or Intermediate certification.
- Labor & Delivery experience.
- Triage experience required.
- Strong patient assessment, care planning, nursing process, therapeutic care, documentation, and care coordination skills.
